CIDG nabs drug high-value target in Bataan

MARIVELES, Bataan — The Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) on Tuesday arrested a high-value target under the campaign against drugs for illegal possession of a firearm and ammunition here.

Chief Insp. Reyson Bagain, the CIDG Bataan chief, said Jerry Acosta, 43, of Barangay Biaan here, was arrested after a search of his house yielded a handgun.

The CIDG conducted the search based on a warrant issued by a Regional Trial Court in Bataan.

SPO2 Joseph Mejia, a CIDG investigator, said seized from the suspect’s house was a caliber .38 revolver and 49 live ammunition.

The suspect has been involved in illegal drugs and listed as a high-value target, Mejia said.

Acosta faces violation of Republic Act No. 10591 or the illegal possession of firearms and ammunition. (PNA)
