CIDG nabs 6 fugitives in post-Holy Week ops

MANILA — Six fugitives, including two most wanted persons, have been arrested at the start of April, the Philippine National Police Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) said.

Detectives of the CIDG arrested six persons including two in Most Wanted Person (MWP) lists in separate police operations on Monday in Quezon City, Nueva Vizcaya, Iligan City, Compostela Valley and Bulacan.

The CIDG Regional Force Unit (RFU)-2 in Nueva Vizcaya arrested Romy Sabungan in Barangay Kamandag, Ambaguio, Nueva Vizcaya under a warrant of arrest for robbery.

Edward Mandipol was also arrested by CIDG RFU-10 detectives with other police units at Abuno Elementary School, Barangay Abuno, Iligan City on the strength of an arrest warrant for rape.

The CIDG also nabbed two most wanted persons, one of whom is Cordillera’s most wanted and the other a rape suspect who is also one of Sipalay City Police Station’s most wanted.

Diosdado Mejala, the fifth most wanted person of Police Regional Office-Cordillera, was arrested in front of the Police Retirement and Benefits Services office in Camp Crame, Quezon City on the strength of warrant of arrest for murder.

Meanwhile, CIDG detectives arrested Lorgie Camit, Sipalay City’s seventh most wanted person, at SLRC Bldg., Phase 1, Barangay San Manuel, San Jose Del Monte City, Bulacan by virtue of an arrest warrant for rape.

CIDG RFU 11-Comval detectives arrested Marcelino Lintas Jr. alias ‘Budoy’ in Purok 2, Barangay Calabcab, Maco, Comval Province . He had an outstanding arrest warrant for murder.

CIDG RFU NCR-Quezon City operatives and elements of the Quezon City Police District simultaneously implemented two search warrants against Romeo Inocencio in Barangay Poblacion, Sta Maria, Bulacan resulting in his arrest and seizure of a caliber .38 revolver, a caliber 9mm pistol both without serial numbers, 5 assorted magazines and 22 assorted live ammunition. (Benjamin Pulta/PNA)
