MANILA— The tail-end of a cold front affecting the eastern section of Central Luzon will bring scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms in several areas in the country Tuesday, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said.

In its 24-hour weather forecast, Pagasa said the areas that will be affected are the provinces of Cagayan, Isabela, Aurora and Quezon.

Meanwhile, the easterlies or warm winds from the east affecting the section of Southern Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao will bring rainshowers and thunderstorms in the Bicol region, Eastern Visayas, and Caraga.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will be partly cloudy with isolated rainshowers caused by localized thunderstorms.

Filipinos should also brace for hotter days ahead as the state weather bureau is set to declare the onset of dry season this week.

During summer months, the easterlies and the high-pressure area, which is the opposite of a low pressure area, will be the dominant weather systems in the country. (Lily Ramos/PNA)
