FlipTop rapper Zaito arrested for illegal drugs in Cavite residence

KAWIT, Cavite – Police anti-illegal drug operatives arrested Wednesday the popular FlipTop rapper Zaito for possession of three sachets of “shabu” inside his residence in Barangay Toclong in this town.

Kawit police operatives , led by Senior Police Officer 1 (SPO1) Roberto O. Lacasa, were equipped with search warrant issued by Judge Agripino C. Morga of the Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 32 in San Pablo City, Laguna dated April 3, 2018, when they raided Zaito’s house on Delphinus Street, Estrella Homes 4, Phase1 in Barangay Toclong Wednesday.

Lacasa said Thursday that they received information on the rapper’s involvement in illegal drugs and thus a search warrant was served against Zaito, whose real name is Pedro Canon, Jr.

Zaito, who also stars in the television series “Ang Probinsyano,” was caught red-handed with three sachets of shabu, Lacasa said.

Zaito decline to be interviewed after his arrest . He is now detained at the Kawit police station while charges of violation of Republic Act 9165, or the “Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002,” are being prepared for filing in court against him.

He rose to become a popularly known rapper in the Fliptop Battle League, the country’s first and largest professional rap battle conference that promotes Pinoy hip-hop.
