Prime suspect in Nueva Ecija massacre nabbed

CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga—Police arrested Friday night the prime suspect in the gruesome killing of six persons in Barangay Tambo Adorable, San Leonardo, Nueva Ecija.

Chief Supt. Amador V. Corpus, director of the Police Regional Office 3 (Central Luzon) on Saturday said that Jessie Tesoro was arrested in Barangay Cut-Cut 1, Tarlac City at around 7:45 p.m. Friday.

Based on the investigation, Tesoro hacked with a bolo her live-in partner Jennifer Cariaga, 24; Sergio Caballero, 29; Amy Caballero, 12; Joshua Caballero, 10; their mother Leonila Caballero, 48; and Sonny Custodio.

The victims’ lifeless bodies were found in their rented apartment by responding policemen early morning of Friday after survivor Annalyn Caballero,19, managed to seek help from their neighbor.

Annalyn sustained multiple hack wounds and is now confined at Dr. Paulino J. Garcia Memorial Research and Medical Center in Cabanatuan City.

Two children, ages 5 and 1 year, old were left unharmed and were turned over by responding policemen to their relatives.

Investigation also revealed that Tesoro and her live in partner had a heated argument prior to the incident.

The arrested suspect is now under the custody of San Leonardo Municipal Police Station while charges for multiple murder with frustrated murder are being readied for filing in court.

“This accomplishment proves that indeed our police is exerting all efforts to immediately solve cases and put behind the bars of justice all who are responsible for these lawlessness,” Corpus said. (PNA)
