Naic dad clarifies issues on infra projects

NAIC, Cavite – Naic Mayor Junio C. Dualan doused speculations and issues raised by some quarters who have complained of alleged delay or inaction on the town’s various infrastructure projects.

In an open letter to constituents posted through his Facebook account, Dualan explained the delay on the scheduled infrastructure projects, including the construction of new Saluysoy Bridge located at Sapa, Naic, Cavite.

When PNA called for clarification on Monday, he said that the complaints are more on the supposed project delay since the bridge, which connects Naic’s seven barangays, was ordered closed last Feb. 22.

Residents resorted to Facebook to air their complaints, which Dualan said are hurtful words including allegations of pocketing funds, among others.

In his open letter, Dualan clarified that the projects were funded through the help of Senator Cynthia Villar to the tune of PHP 47 million and is being implemented by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Cavite II District Engineering Office.

He also explained that the budget which comes from the national government, goes directly to the implementing agency which is the DPWH District Office in Tagaytay City.

He said the Saluysoy Bridge is underway and set for completion on March 29, 2019 as he assured constituents he will personally monitor the development of the project.

To guarantee transparency in all dealings related to the project, the mayor also posted copies of the contractor Hausland Construction and the DPWH’s contract details, including the Presidential Complaint Center 8888 (the President’s action hotline).

“Wala naman po tayong tinatago, at personal kong hangad ang maisakatuparan ang proyektong ito na marami nang nanungkulan ang nagtangka ngunit di naisakatuparan (I have nothing to hide and I personally wish for the completion of this project where many of my predecessors attempted to implement but failed),” said Dualan. (Gladys Pino/PNA)
