3 killed in Laguna drug bust

MANILA — Three drug suspects were killed in an encounter with policemen during a drug raid in Laguna early Wednesday.

In a report to the Philippine National Police (PNP) headquarters, the San Pablo City police said the buy bust operation at Sitio Biuyan in Barangay Sto. Angel.

Officers from the Laguna Provincial Police Office and San Pablo police station fought it out with the suspects, resulting in the death of suspects Reynaldo Dante, Wilbert Sardido and a third individual who remains unidentified.

Recovered from the crime scene were three pistols, PHP2,000 marked money and seven packets of suspected shabu.

Guillermo Salazar, who assumed office this week, warned leaders of criminal organizations in the provinces of Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal and Quezon to cease their activities and vowed to go after rogue policemen using the plans for entrapment operations put up by the PNP Counter Intelligence Task Force. (Benjamin Pulta/PNA)
