13 arrested in anti-drug ops in Central Luzon

CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga — Thirteen suspects were arrested and numerous illegal drugs were confiscated during a series of anti-illegal drugs operations in Central Luzon on Sunday.

Chief Supt. Amador V. Corpus, the director of the Police Regional Office 3 (CentralLuzon), said the region-wide operations led to the arrest of six persons in Pampanga, three in Bataan, two in Bulacan, and one each in Tarlac and Nueva Ecija.

Corpus commended the operatives for the arrests of the drug suspects.

“As the PNP’s campaign against illegal drugs continues, we have the citizenry on our side as evidenced by the many tips we keep getting from the public which led to police operations and arrests of illegal drugs personalities,” he said.

The six persons arrested in Pampanga were identified as Jerry Siron, Jaybie Fernandez, Arlene Madlambayan-Sunglao, all residents of Mabalacat City; Nestor Bucasa, a native of Bamban, Tarlac; Rjay Yaya of Guagua, Pampanga; and Efren Bernabe of Macabebe, Pampanga.

Seized from their possession were a total of nine heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing suspected shabu, illegal gambling paraphernalia, cash bets, and marked money.

In Bataan, nabbed were Allen Bautista of Balanga City; Marvin Villanueva of Orani; and Mark Anthony Cruz of Mariveles.

Bulacan police operatives, on the other hand, were able to arrest Bernardo Bernardo of Sta. Maria; and Lex Arbuleda of Pandi, Bulacan while in the act of selling and in possession of four heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing suspected shabu.

Also arrested were Lester Tan, who was included in the drugs watch list of Concepcion, Tarlac; and Edgardo Fernandez of Cabanatuan City, Nueva Ecija.

Confiscated from suspects in Bataan and Bulacan were sachets containing suspected shabu and marked money.

The arrested suspects are now presently detained, facing charges of violation of Republic Act 9165, otherwise known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. (PNA)
