NCRPO chief inspects police units for Labor Day deployment

MANILA — National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) Chief Director Camilo Cascolan on Tuesday inspected police units in Metro Manila, which would be deployed for the Labor Day celebration.

In a statement, Cascolan reminded troops to adhere to the rule of law, exercise maximum tolerance, and respect the rights of everyone.

He said that the majority of the Filipino people also have the right to a peaceful, secure, and safe environment during Labor Day.

As of 8 a.m. Tuesday, the Southern Police District (SPD) has monitored a protest rally involving a dozen participants in Muntinlupa City.

The SPD has readied a standby Civil Disturbance Management (CDM) unit of about 320 men, including a group assigned to the District Public Safety Battalion at the Metro Manila Development Authority in EDSA, Guadalupe, Makati City.

CDM personnel were also assigned to police stations in Las Piñas, Taguig, Parañaque, Pasay, Pateros, and Makati to attend to any eventuality. (Benjamin Pulta/PNA)
