Former LnB regional prexy is new DILG Assistant Secretary

Former Zamboanga Peninsula Liga ng mga Barangay (LnB) regional president Marjorie N. Jalosjos has recently been appointed as Assistant Secretary for Special Concerns of the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG).

Jalosjos was sworn-in recently by DILG officer-in-charge Catalino S. Cuy. Present during the oath-taking were Head Executive Assistant (HEA) Josephine Leysa, Assistant Secretary Ester Aldana and Assistant Secretary Nestor F. Quinsay, among others.

Jalosjos’ appointment papers was penned by President Duterte last June 27.

Cuy has designated Jalosjos as the Assistant Secretary for Special Concerns. Under her wing are the Human Resources and Killed and Wounded in Action One-Stop Assistance (KIA/WIA/OSA) Program.

The DILG OIC said that Jalosjos’ experience in the grassroots level would be beneficial as she handles crucial issues and concerns affecting local governance.

“I believe that her youthful passion and enthusiasm in serving the people will be her compass to properly implement and carryout the programs of the department under her wing,” he said.

Prior to her appointment in the DILG, Jalosjos was a barangay captain and sangguniang barangay member. She was also ex-officio board member and regional and provincial president of the Liga ng mga Barangay.

Jalosjos holds a Bachelor of Science degree in two fields –Public Administration and Business Administration from Mandaue City and Dapitan City, respectively.
