#RealNumbers photo contest zooms in on drug war gains, rehab efforts

MANILA — Capture photos showing how the Duterte administration’s campaign against illegal drugs has helped improve the lives of drug surrenderers and you may get a chance to win as much as PHP 25,000.

The #RealNumbersPH Photo Contest, organized by the Inter-Agency Committee on Anti-Illegal Drugs (ICAD) led by the Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), rewards participants for submitting photos showing how former drug users and pushers have changed their lives for the better after surrendering to authorities.

With the theme “Tunay na numero. Tunay na tagumpay. Tunay na pagbabago”, PCOO Assistant Secretary Marie Banaag said the photo contest aims to raise awareness on the benefits of the drug campaign.

“We want to create awareness among our citizens on how they look at the anti-illegal drugs problem in the country. If there have been improvements, they can translate that through their lenses,” Banaag told the Philippine News Agency.

Banaag said the photo contest is meant to encourage the public, especially the youth, to be one with the government in its anti-narcotics campaign.
