‘Habagat’ continues to affect PH

MANILA— Most parts of the country will experience light to moderate rains Tuesday, Independence Day, brought by the southwest monsoon or “habagat”, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said.

The state weather bureau said the southwest monsoon, affecting Luzon and Western Visayas, will bring rains over the provinces of Bataan, Zambales, Pangasinan, Benguet, Ilocos, Batangas, Cavite and the Ilocos region, which may result in flashfloods/landslides in low-lying areas.

Metro Manila will have cloudy skies with occasional rain showers and thunderstorms, while Western Visayas and the remaining areas in Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao will be mostly cloudy, with rain showers and thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, strong winds coming from the southwest will prevail over Luzon, making coastal waters moderate to rough.

Temperature in Metro Manila ranges from 24-28 degrees Celsius; Tuguegarao City 25-33 degrees Celsius; Baguio City 17-19 degrees Celsius; Metro Cebu 26-32 degrees Celsius; and Metro Davao 26-33 degrees Celsius. (Lily Ramos/PNA)
