President Duterte visits wounded soldiers in Cagayan De Oro City

Patag, Cagayan de Oro City — President Rodrigo Roa Duterte personally checked the condition of several wounded soldiers currently confined at Camp Evangelista Station Hospital inside the Infantry Division headquarters here on Monday, June 25.

During the hospital visit, President Duterte conferred medals of the Order of Lapu-Lapu with the Rank of Kampilan to the injured soldiers in honor of their courage, bravery, and sacrifice in the service of the country.

The Order of Lapu-Lapu, Rank of Kampilan is awarded by the President to officials and personnel of the government and private individuals who were seriously wounded, injured, or suffered great loss of property while participating in activities pursuant to the President’s campaign or advocacy.

Among the wounded soldiers were Private First Class (PFC) Jenito Callora, PFC Arman Tan, PFC Jiffey Tanjay, Private Jayson Gumahin, Corporal Rolando Cartilla, and CAFGU Active Auxiliary Mark Taquin.

Other soldiers sustained minor injuries due to a vehicular accident last June 22.

The Chief Executive had a brief chat with the wounded soldiers and promised to help them and provide for their needs.

He also pledged to give them financial assistance while undergoing treatment. (PND)
