CIDG nabs Ilocos Sur’s No. 10 most wanted

MANILA — Police authorities arrested a 21-year-old man who was listed in Ilocos Sur’s provincial Most Wanted Persons (MWP) the Philippine National Police Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (PNP-CIDG) announced Wednesday.

Manhunt operations yielded Jonel R. Malapit who was arrested for rape in Barangay Babayaon, Santa Cruz, Ilocos Sur Tuesday.

Malapit is listed as No. 10 Provincial Level MWP in Ilocos Sur and an alleged member of the “Malapit Group” engaged in swindling and illegal drugs activities.

CIDG chief Police Director Roel Obusan said separate operations also yielded two others who are facing separate charges in Benguet and Camarines Sur.

Teams from the CIDG-Benguet also arrested Carol Ann Lasaten, No. 3 on the Municipal Level MWP in La Trinidad, Benguet in Kesbeng Poblacion, La Trinidad, Benguet. Lasaten faces charges of estafa.

Meanwhile, joint elements of the CIDG Camarines Sur arrested Ollan Owen Gonzales in Barangay Santo Domingo in Calabanga town.
