MANILA — Jesus Is Lord Church (JIL) leader, Bro. Eddie Villanueva, lauded President Rodrigo Duterte for apologizing to God.

“I am glad that the President has apologized to the Living GOD. Only the LORD our GOD can judge our sincerity,” the JIL founder said on a Facebook post Wednesday.

The head of the Christian group also expressed hope that Duterte would lead the people towards unity amid religious differences.

“Moving forward, I hope the President can lead us towards greater unity and respect for one’s faith and religion and to focus all energy on policies that can uplift the nation!” he added.

Duterte had a two-hour meeting with Villanueva in Malacañang on Tuesday.
