PNR on limited operations due to bad weather

MANILA — The Philippine National Railways (PNR) is on limited operations Wednesday morning due to the unpleasant weather caused by heavy monsoon rains.

In an advisory, the PNR said that an MSC train with scheduled trip at 9:37 a.m. bound for Alabang was already in service while an MSC train with a trip scheduled at 9:30 a.m. for Tutuban is also operational.

“One hour interval of train service will be implemented until 2 p.m. today,” according to the PNR.

The railway agency earlier announced that it has suspended services at 7 a.m. due to flooding in the Main Line South, Manila Division Area 1.

At 8 a.m., the state weather bureau Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration raised an Orange Rainfall Warning over Metro Manila, Rizal, Bataan and Zambales.

Residents are also advised to be on alert for possible flooding in low-lying areas. (Aerol John Pateña/PNA)
