TRECE MARTIRES CITY, Cavite – The provincial government has distributed 23 brand new multi-cabs to the offices of senior citizens associations in the province for the conduct of mobile services to elderlies in various barangays (villages).

Governor Jesus Crispin Remulla has ordered the release of the white multi-cabs to the 23 presidents of the Cavite local government unit’s (LGUs) Office for Senior Citizens Affairs (OSCA) starting this week so the elders’ office could reach out to their senior citizens clients in the communities.

With the service vehicles, the OSCA could use the vehicles to conduct mobile services to the barangays to spare senior citizens from traveling from their barangays to the city or town hall to seek assistance and receive their benefits.

Provincial Administrator for Community Affairs Engr. Redel John Dionisio and Provincial General Services Officer Ferdinand Belamide led the distribution in simple rites at the Capitol grounds Monday with the presentation of the symbolic key for the vehicles and their eventual turnover to the assigned OSCA service vehicle drivers.

OSCA-Cavite Federation president Ciriaco Angeles from Maragondon and his co-OSCA beneficiaries expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the Governor and the provincial government for the donation of the transport vehicles.

Angeles said the service vehicle demonstrates Remulla’s concern for the senior citizens and for prioritizing their needs.

“Kami po sampu ng aming mga miyembro dito sa Lungsod ng General Trias, ay lubos na nagpapasalamat sa sasakyang ipinamahagi ng butihing Gobernador ng lalawigan ng Cavite (We and the rest of the members here in General Trias City are so grateful for the service vehicles given by the good Cavite provincial governor),” said Nanay Purizima Arcega, head of the OSCA-GenTri City.

Arcega said that as senior citizens and elders now, they need to be assisted as most of them could no longer walk that far or travel from and to their areas of assignments or activities to help fellow elders. (Dennis Abrina /PNA)
