‘Josie’ forces cancellation of JPV Marikina-Davao Aguilas game

MANILA — Tropical Depression “Josie” initially prompted the transfer of the JPV Marikina-Davao Aguilas game from Marikina City to Carmona, Cavite on Saturday.

An hour before its scheduled kick-off on Sunday, however, the storm forced the total postponement of the game.

The Philippines Football League (PFL) announced that the Marikina-Davao match will be rescheduled to a later date.

Owing to “adverse weather conditions and [the] flooded field” of the PFF National Training Center in Carmona, the match will now be played later in the season.

As of 1 p.m. Sunday, the entire province of Cavite was placed under red rainfall warning by the state weather bureau. Governor Jesus Remulla then placed the said province under state of calamity. (Ivan Stewart Saldajeno/PNA)
