Classes, work in Luzon suspended due to heavy rain

MANILA — Some local government units in Luzon have suspended classes on Monday due to inclement weather brought about by the southwest monsoon enhanced by tropical depression “Josie” and another low pressure area.

In Metro Manila, classes in all levels both public and private, were suspended in Caloocan, Las Piñas City Malabon, Mandaluyong, Manila, Marikina, Muntinlupa, Navotas, Parañaque, Pasay, Pasig, Pateros, Taguig, Valenzuela and Quezon City.

In Ilocos region, classes in all levels both public and private, were suspended in Pangasinan. The entire provinces of Bataan, Nueva Ecija, Pampanga and Tarlac in Central Luzon have suspended classes in all levels both public and private.

Government work in Bataan has been suspended as well except for local government units involved in disaster risk reduction and management.

The only areas in Bulacan with class suspension for all levels both public and private include Bocaue, Bulakan, Calumpit, Hagonoy, Malolos, Marilao, Meycauayan, Paombong, Pulilan and Obando.

In Zambales, classes in all levels both public and private, were suspended in Botolan, Candelaria, Castillejos, Iba, Masinloc, Olongapo City, San Marcelino, Sta. Cruz and Subic.

As for San Antonio, classes both public and private were suspended from pre-school to senior high school only.

In Calabarzon, classes in all levels both public and private, were suspended in Cainta, Morong, Rodriguez, San Mateo, Taytay and the provinces of Cavite and Laguna.

In Tiaong, Quezon, classes both public and private were suspended from pre-school to high school only. In MIMAROPA, classes in all levels both public and private, were suspended in Oriental Mindoro, Baco and Naujan.

Meanwhile, only classes from pre-school to senior high school in both public and private schools were suspended in San Teodoro.

Classes in all levels both public and private were also suspended in Iloilo City.
