MMDA releases traffic rerouting plan for SONA 2017

MANILA, July 21 — The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) released Friday its traffic rerouting plan for the second State of the Nation Address (SONA) of President Rodrigo Duterte on Monday, July 24, 2017 at the Batasang Pambansa Complex in Quezon City.

In its traffic advisory, the MMDA urged the motorists to take the following alternate routes:

From Commonwealth Avenue (west bound), turn right at Fairlane, Right at Dalia, then left at Chestnut then straight to Sauyo Road to Mindanao Avenue to destination (vice versa).

From SM Fairview/ Robinson’s take Quirino Highway, straight to Mindanao Avenue to destination.

Fairview/Mindanao Avenue, right at Jordan Plains straight to Quirino Highway to Mindanao Avenue to destination.

MMDA chairman Danilo Lim said around 2,000 traffic enforcers will be deployed to manage the crowd and vehicular flow in the vicinity of the Batasang Pambansa Complex.

Teams of traffic, anti-riot, rescue and even sidewalk-clearing operations personnel will manage both vehicular traffic and protesters that may stage their rally during the event. (Aerol B. Patena/PNA)
