Top Negrense producers feted at 2018 Bulawan Awards

BACOLOD CITY — Top member-producers of the Association of Negros Producers (ANP) were declared winners in 15 categories of six product sectors in the 2018 Bulawan Awards.

The awarding rites, held at Robinsons Place Bacolod Tuesday afternoon, was part of the week-long ANP trade fair at the mall that runs until Wednesday.

Maxima Madera, chairperson of the 2018 Bulawan Awards, said that through the production design competition, member-producers were able to showcase their unique products, generate bigger income, and tap more potential buyers.

The annual event encourages creativity and commitment among the ANP members in terms of product innovation.

This year’s winners are the following: fashion and garments sector — Kiculo Crafts, bags category; Crisvil Creation, fashion and jewelry category; Rubyline Ladies Fashion, garments category; gifts, decors and housewares (GDH) sector — Silay Export, table tops category; and Vito Prints and Pieces, home furnishing category;
Furniture and furnishings sector — Golden Arts Furnishing, furniture category; and Tumandok Crafts and Industries, luminary category;

Food sector — Sugarlandia, flour-based category; Shiena’s Homemade, sugar-based category; and LM Jarvis Food Products, deli category; natural and organic sector — Alter Trade Philippines Inc.; food category; and Fresh Start Organics Inc., non-food category.

Tourism sector — 4J Exclusive, MassKara category; Azatri Souvenirs Inc., T-shirt category; and Negros Silk Producers Association Inc., novelty souvenir category.

The winners received plaques and certificates, and will get discounted rate in their participation in next year’s Negros Trade Fair.

The winning entries will be presented during the press launch of the 32nd Negros Trade Fair in Manila on August 22.

The 2018 Bulawan Awards and Trade Fair, participated in by 28 member and non-member producers, was patterned after the upcoming Negros Trade Fair at Glorietta Activity Center in Makati City in September themed, “Sweet Talk: Sugar and Spice, Awesome and Nice.” (Erwin Nicavera/PNA)
