P1.7-M shabu seized in Taguig buy-bust

MANILA — Authorities nabbed seven suspects and seized worth PHP1.7 million “shabu” in a buy-bust operation in Taguig City Wednesday night.

The operation by the Regional Drug Enforcement Unit of the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) was conducted around 9:30 p.m. at 120 P. Mariano St., in Barangay Ususan.

The suspects were identified as Gary Cruz alias Gary/Ulupong, 50; his live in partner, Zosima Buenviaje, 25; Renie Pascual, 54; Napoleon Tolentino Jr. , 46; Jose Gallardo Carlos, 57; Ariel Legaspi, 52; and Arthuro Villar, 58.

Poseur buyers initially purchased worth PHP200,000 of shabu from suspects Cruz and Pascual.

Meanwhile, Buenviaje, Tolentino, Carlos, Legaspi and Arthuro F. Villar were arrested while in the act of sniffing shabu inside Cruz’s house.

Confiscated from the suspects were 250 grams of suspected shabu.

The suspects and evidence were immediately brought to the office of Regional Drug Enforcement Unit of the NCRPO for investigation and will be submitted to the Crime Laboratory Office for technical examination. (Benjamin Pulta/PNA)
