LAOAG CITY — The Ilocos Norte Youth and Development Office (INYDO) under the Ilocos Norte government is gearing up preparations for the International Youth Day this August.
Weenter Ventura, INYDO executive director, said Thursday their office has set a series of activities for the week-long celebration to be attended by thousands of young Ilocanos from the 21 towns and two cities of the province.
“To highlight the activity, a youth parade will commence at Robinsons Mall in San Nicolas town on August 9,” he said.
Ventura said the program entitled “Linggo ng Kabataan” will kick off on August 7 and end August 12. Other activities include poster making contest and exhibit, singing contest, “Youth jam”, “Open Mic” and vlog screening.
On August 12, there will be a synchronized tree planting activity in the entire province.
In partnership with the Philippine Red Cross, the youth are also encouraged to donate their blood for the Sirib Youth Blood Bank.
The blood letting activity to be conducted at Robinsons Mall is a priority program of the INYDO to help save lives particularly this rainy season when dengue cases are on the rise. (Leilanie Adriano/PNA)
