Davao police inaugurates P15-M building

DAVAO CITY — The Police Regional Office 11 (Davao) inaugurated its new edifice inside Camp Quintin Merecido in Catitipan here on Thursday.

PRO-11 Regional Director, Chief Supt. Manuel Gaerlan, said the PHP15-million Bagani Hall was funded by the Philippine National Police (PNP), and was approved during the time of former PNP director general Ronald dela Rosa. The structure comes with another PHP2.5 million budget for air conditioners and other accessories.

Gaerlan said the new building should inspire PRO-11 personnel to be more efficient and effective in their tasks.

“This is a multi-purpose hall for us, not only to have a venue for big events, because here in Camp Quintin Merecido, wala kaming venue (we do not have a venue) and we rent other places,” he said, adding that the facility will also be used for personnel training.

Gaerlan said the project’s second phase is set to start soon, which involves riprapping the site around the building as it stands on weak ground near a creek. (Armando Fenequito, Jr./PNA)
