Power outages set in NegOr for maintenance works

DUMAGUETE CITY — The Negros Oriental Electric Cooperative II (NORECO II) has announced separate power service interruptions in the coming days to allow its teams to conduct vegetation clearing and replacement of rotten poles.

On Saturday (Aug. 4), a power interruption is scheduled from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. in Obogon and Azagra in Tanjay City; Azagra and Enrique Villanueva in Sibulan; Dobdob in Valencia, Avocado in Sta. Catalina and the entire town of Pamplona, said outgoing NORECO II general manager, Dionefred Macahig.

The power firm will replace dilapidated backbone poles and trim vegetation in these areas.

Also on the same day, from 8:10 a.m. to 5 p.m., a power service interruption is scheduled in the following areas: ulantubig, North Road Buñao in Dumaguete City; Boloc-boloc, Sto. Niño village, Airport area, Agan-an, some parts of Tubtubon and the whole poblacion of Sibulan, some parts of Magatas, Cabulakan, and Ajong in Sibulan, and the whole area of San Jose, Tampi and Tandayag in Amlan.

NORECO II will conduct emergency replacement of six pieces of rotten/leaning three-phase primary poles from Maslog to Campaclan, Sibulan and the relocation of three-phase primary poles because of road widening/construction.

Power interruptions are also set for next week as the firm will conduct clearing of vegetation in some areas.

On Monday (Aug. 6), the areas to be affected by the scheduled power service interruption include the Sto. Rosario road going to the residence of the governor in Babajuba, Dumaguete City.

From 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Monday, the areas to be affected are the single phase disconnect crossing Balayagmanok road going to Beting Sy area in Balayagmanok, Valencia.

On Tuesday (Aug. 7) from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., areas affected are from single phase disconnect at Ogahong up to Sagbang to Japanese Shrine in Valencia town.

On Wednesday (Aug. 8), also from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., the power interruption will affect the areas from single phase disconnect crossing Junob Elementary School road going to Upper Cantil-e and ACSAT Village in Dumaguete City.

Finally, on Thursday (Aug. 9), areas to be affected by the power interruption from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. are from single phase disconnect highway at Maayongtubig road going to Malungkay Diot, Malungkay Dako and Nagpantaw, Kabandahan and Jawa going to part of Bagacay Dauin. (PR/PNA)
