LPA spotted off northern Luzon

MANILA—The southwest monsoon continues to affect some areas in Luzon and a low pressure area (LPA) was spotted off northern Luzon outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR).

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said in its 4 a.m. forecast Thursday that the LPA was last observed at 305 kilometers northwest of extreme northern Luzon.

Due to the southwest monsoon, the weather bureau said Ilocos and Cordillera regions, Zambales, Bataan, and Babuyan Group of Islands will have cloudy skies with scattered rain and thunderstorms.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy skies with isolated rain showers due to localized thunderstorms.

Temperature in Metro Manila ranges from 26-30 degrees Celsius; Tuguegarao City 25-34 degrees Celsius; Baguio City 16-19 degrees Celsius; Metro Cebu 26-34 degrees Celsius and Metro Davao 25-33 degrees Celsius. (Lily Ramos/PNA)
