2K residents preemptively evacuated in Aurora

BALER, Aurora — At least 667 families or 2,713 individuals were evacuated in various evacuation centers as tropical cyclone warning signal No. 3 was hoisted over the northern part of this province due to Typhoon Ompong on Friday.

Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) head Amado Elson A. Egargue said the pre-emptive evacuation was conducted to ensure the safety of the residents in high risk areas.

“It is ongoing particularly to identified hazard prone areas,” Egargue said in his report to the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (PDRRMC) headed by acting Governor Rommel Rico T. Angara.

In Dilasag town, he said there are 355 families or 1,420 persons staying in the evacuation centers located in the villages of Masagana, Dilaguidi, Diagyan, Diniog and at the municipal hall.

In Dingalan town, he reported that there are 244 families or 1,050 persons temporarily housed inside the evacuation centers in Barangays Aplaya, Caragsacan, Davil-davilan, Dikapanikian, Ibona, Matawe, Paltic, Poblacion and Umiray.

In Dipaculao, there are 23 families or 68 persons were brought to  the evacuation centers located in barangays of Mucdol, Diarabasin, Lipit, Gupa, North Poblacion and Dinadiawan.

“In the town of San Luis, preemptive evacuation is being undertaken right now,” he said.

In the capital town of Baler,  the PDRRMO head said that there are 45 families or 175 persons inside the evacuation centers.

Egargue also said that all major roads in the province are still passable except the Cabanatuan-Baler via Villa in Maria Aurora town.

“So far we are preparing for the setting up incident command post in northern Aurora towns of Dinalungan, Casiguran and Dilasag,” he added. ( Jason De Asis/PNA)
