Cops track down suspect in shooting of court secretary

COTABATO CITY – A local court employee is fighting for his life after a still unidentified gunman shot him along San Isidro St., Barangay Rosary Heights 10 here Thursday night.

Senior Supt. Rolly Octavio, city police director, said a manhunt has been launched against “persons of interest” in the attack on Ibrahim Binasing, 62, court secretary of the 12th Judicial Region – Regional Trial Court Branch 13 and a resident of Pansacala St., this city.

Binasing was critically wounded when shot.

Police investigation disclosed that Binasing was inside a refreshment bar when the gunman barged in and shot him without provocation.

Binasing sustained gunshot wounds on his abdomen and is getting medical attention at the Cotabato Regional and Medical Center.
