Dumaguete cop nabs 2 boarders in ‘shabu session’

DUMAGUETE CITY — Two men were nabbed while allegedly engaged in a “shabu session” inside a policeman’s boarding house in Tabuctubig village here over the weekend.

A police report obtained on Monday identified the suspects as Arnel Cresencio Baro, 28, of Barangay Poblacion 1, and Elmar Jun Real Pis-an, 25, of Barangay Talay, both in Dumaguete City.

The two were arrested by SPO2 Arnel Celis, according to Supt. Kat Ramos of the Negros Oriental Police Provincial Office.

Celis paid an unexpected visit to his boarding house in Purok Okra on Saturday and caught the suspects in the act of using suspected shabu.

Confiscated from the suspects were six pieces of tin foil and disposable lighters but no shabu or crystal meth was recovered.

The suspects are now detained pending the filing of charges against them for violation of Sec. 15 (Use of Dangerous Drugs) under Art. II of Republic Act 9165 or Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. (Mary Judaline Partlow /PNA)
