IPOPHL Director General Josephine Santiago announced during the 58th Series of Meetings of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) Assemblies last week that here office concluded the NIPS upon completing the consultations with intellectual property stakeholders including businesses and the academe.

NIPS is the government’s blueprint to harness intellectual property as a driver of economic growth.

“We are pleased to inform the Assembly that we completed the preparation of the National IP Strategy using the whole-of-government approach,” Santiago said at the WIPO meeting in Geneva, Switzerland.

“The NIPS enhances the innovation agenda of the country through the use of IP by industries and businesses with particular focus on small and medium-scale enterprises,” she added.

IPOPHL is in close coordination with WIPO for crafting the NIPS.
