11-hour power interruption to hit parts of Iloilo Aug. 6

ILOILO CITY, Aug. 5 – – Some parts of Iloilo province will experience 11-hour power interruption on Sunday, August 6, according to the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) 6.

NGCP said that it scheduled a shutdown of some of its transmission facilities from 6:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.

Specifically, affected distribution utility will be the Iloilo Electric Cooperative Inc. I (ILECO I).

ILECO I serves 15 towns in the province namely Oton, Tigbauan, Guimbal, Miag-ao, San Miguel, San Joaquin, Tubungan, Igbaras, Alimodian, Sta. Barbara, Leon, Maasin, Cabatuan, Leganes and Pavia.

NGCP explained that they will be conducting maintenance activities along the 138kV Dingle-Sta Barbara line thus, shutdown of some transmission facilities is needed.

NGCP’s customers are advised to take necessary preparations and precautions for the schedule power interruption.

NGCP assured that normal operations will immediately resume after the completion of the work. (Cindy B. Ferrer/PNA)
