High-value drug suspect nabbed with P170K ‘shabu’ in CamSur

LEGAZPI CITY — Drug enforcement agents nabbed on Wednesday night a drug peddler, seizing from the him PHP170,000 worth of suspected shabu (crystal meth) in a drug operation in a village in Daet town in Camarines Norte, an official of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) said on Thursday.

Cotton Talento, PDEA Bicol spokesperson, said the suspect, Hernani Echano, alias Nani, 36, was arrested on the strength of a search warrant served by lawmen at his residence at Barangay Camambugab, Daet, Camarines Norte.

The raid on the suspect’s house also yielded some 25 grams of suspected shabu and several drug paraphernalia.

Talento said the suspect is tagged as the No. 3 regional high-value target on PDEA’s drug watch list.

She said the suspect, who did not resist arrest, had been the subject of surveillance for his involvement in the illegal drug trade in various parts of Bicol.
