Camiguinons urged to ‘deepen cooperation’ during 39th Lanzones fest

MANILA — Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) Secretary Martin Andanar has urged the people of Camiguin to maintain good deeds and cooperation as important tools in achieving peace and prosperity.

Andanar made this call as he graced the opening of the 39th Lanzones Festival and Agro-industrial-tourism trade fair last Sunday in Mambajao, Camiguin.

As we celebrate, we need to give emphasis on preserving hard work, cooperation, good deeds, respect to one another and good character. All these are part of peace and prosperity),” Andanar said.

He also extended a warm greeting from President Rodrigo Duterte to the people of Camiguin, an island-province famous for its sweet lanzones, an edible tropical fruit also called langsats.

Andanar attended the kick-off event of the nine-day festival upon the invitation of Camiguin Gov. Maria Luisa Romualdo.

The Lanzones Festival, bannered by the theme, “Kinaiyahan atong ampingan, kalamboan para sa tanan” (Nurturing nature, prosperity for all), coincides with the launching of world-class dive sites and promotion of its volcano tourism.

The celebration will be highlighted by the crowd-drawer street dancing and ground presentation competition, agri-industrial and nightly concerts.

After addressing the crowd, Andanar visited the booths showcasing different products of the province.

Andanar also discussed the government’s various plans and programs for Camiguin with Mambajao Mayor Jurdin Jesus Romualdo. (Jelly Musico/PNA)
