DUMAGUETE CITY — An alleged drug pusher, who availed of a plea bargain about four years ago, was arrested during an anti-illegal drugs operation in Barangay Junob, Dumaguete City on Wednesday night.
Seized from Archie Alviola, 40, resident of Barangay Cadawinonan here, was suspected “shabu” valued at PHP330,000 by the Dangerous Drugs Board.
He was arrested by operatives of the City Drug Enforcement Unit, headed by Senior Insp. Vann Joel Tingson. During a body search, the suspect yielded five “bultos” (street slang for large volume) and five small plastic sachets of “shabu”, estimated to weigh 28 grams.
Tingson said the suspect was reportedly back in business after he was released from the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology sometime in 2014.
Alviola is said to be part of the Domen group, with two of its members recently arrested in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Bantayan in this capital of Negros Oriental province.
In an interview, Alviola said he was forced to sell “shabu” because some unidentified person delivered the stuff to his residence.
He is currently detained as charges for violation of Republic Act No. 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act, are being readied against him. (Juancho Gallarde/PNA)
