Makati implements road closures, traffic rerouting for Undas

MANILA — The Makati City government has implemented closures of roads leading to the Manila South Cemetery during the All Saints and All Souls Day break.

In its traffic advisory released late Tuesday, the city government said the following roads are closed from midnight Wednesday (Oct. 31) to midnight Friday (Nov. 2):

-Kalayaan Avenue from Zapote to Nicanor Garcia

-South Avenue from Metropolitan Avenue to JP Rizal

-Vito Cruz from South Avenue to Zapote Pililia Street

-JP Rizal to Kalayaan Avenue.

Two-way traffic will be implemented along JP Rizal Street from Pasong Tirad to Makati Avenue and Kalayaan Avenue from Pasong Tirad to Zapote Street.

One way traffic is in effect along Kalayaan Avenue from Pasong Tirad to Zapote Street and Metropolitan Avenue from South Avenue to Nicanor Garcia Street.

“Motorists are reminded to expect heavy traffic, take alternative routes, and avoid South Cemetery area. Public Safety Department enforcers will be deployed to manage traffic and assist motorists in the affected areas,” the Makati City government said on its official Facebook page.
