No untoward incident during ‘Undas’: Davao police

DAVAO CITY — The Police Regional Office 11 (Davao) commended all local police units in the region for the generally peaceful and orderly observance of All Saints’ Day and All Souls’ Day.

PRO-11 head, Chief Supt. Marcelo Morales, said Friday he was satisfied with the implementation of security measures for “Undas”, adding that no untoward incident occurred during the two-day observance.

“Maganda yung kanilang pag-screen ng mga passengers and even yung pumapasok sa cemetery, talagang pinapatupad nila yung mga bawal ipasok, like bladed weapons (They conducted the screening of all passengers well and the people going inside the cemeteries.

They thoroughly checked banned items, like bladed weapons),” said Morales, who personally inspected the security protocols implemented in at least 10 cemeteries in Davao City.

He lauded the police for the increased visibility through mobile patrols that covered even residential areas.

“I also saw the different government agencies, security forces deployed with volunteer organization. Even the boys and girl scouts, they also provided assistance in the cemetery,” the PRO-11 chief added.

He also thanked the public for cooperating with law enforcement agencies. (Rhoda Grace Saron/PNA)
