CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY – Misamis Oriental Governor Yevgeny Vincente “Bambi” Emano led a surprise drug testing among provincial government employees on Monday, November 12.

According to the Provincial Information Office (PIO), at least 43 male employees from various departments underwent drug testing inside the Provincial Risk Reduction and Management Department (PDRRMD). Results have yet to be revealed as of November 13.

Emano said the drug testing aims to ensure that every provincial employee is drug-free, and to signify the local government’s commitment to President Rodrigo Duterte’s campaign against the drug menace.

“We regularly conduct this random drug testing to selected Capitol workers,” said Emano, adding that this is the second drug test conducted this year.

He said those who tested positive will be terminated.

“When you’re a drug user, you will be removed,” the governor said.

Provincial administrator Joy Matteo said the provincial government shelled out PHP400,000 for the drug testing.
