Robredo leads Uson’s Twitter poll on possible replacement for Social Welfare Secretary post

Vice President Leni Robredo topped Communications Assistant Secretary Mocha Uson’s poll for the next Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) in a social media platform Twitter on Thursday, following the recent rejection of  Commission on Appointments to former secretary Judy Taguiwalo.

Among the names that Uson listed, as to what the netizens prefer, were former congresswoman Nikki-Prieto Teodoro, Social Welfare Assistant Secretary Lorraine Badoy, and “others,” wherein the netizens will name their preferred replacement to Taguiwalo.

Robredo got 81 percent while the “Others” registered 11 percent, Badoy with 6 percent and Teodoro with only 2 percent.

In connection with the poll, Presidential spokesman Ernesto Abella said,“I’m sure the President has other ways of measuring a candidate’s capability aside from surveys.”

“For the plain and simple reason that, for example she has already resigned, you know, that particular job is a Cabinet level job,” he added. | (Tina Joyce Laceda – PTV)
