MANILA — National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) head, Director Guillermo Eleazar, is reminding new police officers to show commitment and professionalism in serving the public.

“Police work is a noble profession. This requires sacrifice, dedication, determination and most of all discipline. As you took your oath, you have submitted yourselves as public servant.” the NCRPO chief told the 449 newly-appointed Police Officers 1 (PO1) during their oath-taking in Camp Bagong Diwa, Taguig City on Tuesday.

“Along with this, bear in mind that we do not compromise the standards of our training. Expect an extensive education and rigid training. Therefore, cease this metamorphosing verge to develop your intellect and character towards the realization of professionalism and good governance”, Eleazar added.

Eleazar also expressed confidence that the group, composed of 314 males and 135 females, were strictly screened by the Regional Recruitment and Selection Board as the NCRPO strengthened its Recruitment and Selection Policy.

Although on a temporary status, these newly appointed PO1s are now part of the Philippine National Police, particularly of the NCRPO and will start to get the same benefits given to regular rookie cops.

Their temporary status will only be lifted to permanent status after they will pass the one-year rigid disciplinary training – NCRPO Orientation Program, training in their militaristic and field training on patrol, investigation and traffic.
