Magnolia vs. Alaska ‘dogfight’ could be title clincher

MANILA — Magnolia guns for the kill as the Philippine Basketball Association Governors’ Cup Finals resume at the Ynares Center in Antipolo City 7 p.m. on Wednesday night.

The Hotshots, up 3-2 against the Alaska Aces, can clinch the title with a Game 6 win.

However, coach Chito Victolero is expecting an Alaska squad that has been doing well in the past three games as the team looks to extend the series to a rubber match at the Philippine Arena in Bocaue, Bulacan on Friday night.

“This is what the finals is. I expect a dogfight,” Victolero said.

On the other hand, coach Alex Compton called out all the fans, whether they are rooting for Magnolia or Alaska, to fill up the Ynares Center if they want to witness another classic encounter.

“I would say all the basketball fans should watch. These two teams can’t play any harder,” Compton said.
