Bersamin inks papers for purchase of new SC site in Taguig

MANILA — Chief Justice Lucas P. Bersamin on Tuesday signed the papers for the purchase of a property earmarked for the new site of the high court in Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City.

In a statement Wednesday, the Supreme Court-Public Information Office (SC-PIO) said Bersamin signed the deed of absolute sale with the Bases Conversion Development Authority (BCDA) as well as memorandum of agreements for access roads.

The 21,463-square meter property is located at the former Philippine Army Security Escort Group Area, Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City.

The Chief Justice handed over to Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) President and Chief Executive Officer Vivencio B. Dizon the check amounting to PHP1,044,021,642.86 as full payment .

Bersamin and Dizon also signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with Public Works and Highways Secretary Mark A. Villar for the construction of the Access Road going to C5, and another MOA with Megaworld senior vice president Kevin Andrew L. Tan relative to the access road from the SC property to Campus Avenue in the McKinley Area.
