Presumptive president Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. has chosen his national campaign manager Benhur Abalos to become the next secretary of the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG).

“I would like to announce that chairman Benhur Abalos has been nominated to lead the Department of the Interior and he has accepted the challenge to lead the Department of the Interior and Local Government,” Marcos spokesperson Atty. Vic Rodriguez said.

Abalos was assigned before as the chairperson of the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority by outgoing President Rodrige Duterte, but he resigned from the position to serve as presumptive president Marcos’ national campaign manager.  – ag
