Marching with the ladies this National Women’s Month, the People’s Television Network (PTV) opened a three-day bazaar on Wednesday to join the entire country in honoring the endless contributions of Filipinas towards ushering in a gender-equal and inclusive “Bagong Pilipinas”.

PTV General Manager (GM) Analisa Puod highlighted the natural qualities of women in working towards the network’s progress as she called on the public to “take action” and make “positive change” for women everywhere.

“Together we can develop innovative ideas to elevate our work and bring us, PTV, to the next level,” GM Puod said in her speech during the ribbon cutting ceremony of the bazaar.

GM Puod noted that GAD is a “vital priority” of the Marcos administration, reiterating her commitment to ensuring that the budget for GAD-related efforts of PTV will be fully utilized as the network’s GAD committee has several projects planned.

“Hindi lang po ‘yung para ma-fulfill natin ‘yung commitment natin sa batas na ginagamit yung fund ng PTV for GAD-related projects, but para magamit din para sa kabutihan ng mga babae sa PTV,” she added.

Spearheaded by the PTV-Gender Focal Point System (GPFS), the “Fairy GAD Natin ‘To” bazaar features products, delicacies, and refreshments prepared by female employees of the network and will run until March 8.

Aside from celebrating the 2024 National Women’s Month, PTV-GFPS—the committee responsible for mounting gender awareness and development (GAD) programs of the network—added that the event aims to generate extra income to women entrepreneurs of the company.

The GFPS will also partner with the Civil Service Institute to conduct a gender sensitivity seminar on March 15 and is planning a forum on mental health and good business practices this month for PTV employees. (with Zarry Luis Padilla) – avds
