Abra quake death toll rises to 11

The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) reported on Friday, Aug. 5, that the death toll of the magnitude 7.0 earthquake that struck the province of Abra and other parts of Northern Luzon has increased to 11.

Based on the latest NDRRMC report, two women and nine men died from the earthquake while 410 individuals were injured.

The estimated cost of agricultural damage is at P55,927,895 with 80 farmers and fisherfolk affected, as well as 70 agricultural infrastructures, machineries, and equipment. 

The cost of damage to livestock, poultry, and fisheries stands at P5,145,420.

Infrastructure damages were estimated at P1,342,438,371.81, with 30,285 damaged houses and 1,477 damaged infrastructures.

More than P100 million worth of assistance were already provided to the affected sectors.  -ag
