Actor Arnell Ignacio appointed as OWWA chief

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. appointed actor Arnell Ignacio as head of the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA), Press Secretary Trixie Cruz-Angeles confirmed Wednesday, Aug. 10.

Ignacio served as OWWA deputy administrator in 2018 for a year and was reappointed to the same post in 2021.

Ignacio will now occupy the post of Hans Cacdac.

Cacdac will be serving as undersecretary of the Department of Migrant Workers on Welfare and Foreign Employment.

Meanwhile, Philippine Overseas Employment Administration Administrator Bernard Olalia will serve as undersecretary for Licensing and Adjudication where he will also serve as the Officer-in-Charge of Philippine Overseas Employment Administration. – gb
