Additional 1-M Pfizer vaccines arrive in PH

The Philippines received on Thursday (Dec. 9) night some 1,017,900 doses of government-procured Pfizer BioNTech COVID-19 vaccines.

The vaccines arrived via Flight LD456 at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 3. The latest delivery followed the arrival of 698,600 AstraZeneca doses earlier on Dec.9.

The newly delivered doses are expected to boost the government’s vaccination drive as it gears toward another round of the three-day national vaccination days on Dec. 15 to 17.

The second round of the Bayanihan Bakunahan campaign will push the country to reach its 54 million fully vaccinated individuals by year end.

To date, 53,492,838 first doses and 38,699,023 second doses have been administered nationwide. (PTV News)/AG-rir
