Affected population of ‘Egay’, ‘Falcon’, habagat up at 3M

The number of affected individuals by the impact of the southwest monsoon or “habagat” and typhoons “Egay” and “Falcon” has reached 3,028,040 or 805, 621 families across 51 provinces.

Of these numbers, 287,057 were displaced including 57,226 who were inside evacuation centers.

Reported deaths increased to 29, including 27 that are for validation. Injured individuals topped 165 including 13 for validation, while missing persons count is at 11.

Damage to infrastructures, according to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council, is estimated at P3,631,012,164.44.

Meanwhile, the extent of damage to the agriculture sector has been estimated at P4.47 billion affecting 170,510 farmers and fisherfolk.

Volume of production loss is estimated at 152,041 metric tons, with 195,539 hectares of agricultural areas affected.
