The Department of Health (DOH) has recently introduced a new feature within the eGovPH application that enables users to find the most affordable medications available in their vicinity.

In accordance with the Universal Health Care Law and the Generics Act of 1988, the DOH aims to enhance Filipinos’ access to affordable, high-quality pharmaceutical products.

The public is strongly encouraged to consider purchasing these cost-effective generic options, as they save up to 90% while maintaining comparable effectiveness with other branded medicines.

To access the eGovPH app, follow the steps outlined below:

1. Enter your mobile number or email address to register within the application.

2. At the homepage or dashboard, find the “NGA” or National Government Agencies option and click it.

3. In the search box, type “DOH” and select it from the options provided.

4. Choose the “Drug Price Watch” option.

5. Enter the brand name of the medication and specify the distance you desire from which you wish to locate pharmacies or drug stores for your purchase.

The agency also reminded the public that it is important to follow the doctor’s prescription and take maintenance medicines regularly to prevent the exacerbation of conditions such as hypertension and diabetes.
