AFP reminds employees to maintain proper online behavior

The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) reminded its personnel and civilian employees to maintain proper online behavior.

“All AFP military, civilian human resource, to include dependents, are directed to practice caution in publicizing personal opinion especially when engaging in social media activities.”

AFP Public Affairs Office Chief Captain Jonathan Zata has stated that the basis for the directive is their monitored posts and comments in the past few weeks.

He added that while posting personal opinion is not prohibited, they should assure that their posts are not misinterpreted.

“Each member of our organization has a responsibility to protect not only our physical structures and the lives they contain but more importantly the people’s trust and confidence that took many years to build,” AFP Chief of Staff General Felimon Santos Jr. stated.

The AFP administration also reminds the commanders and spokesperson to obey the existing Security-Accuracy-Propriety-Policy Rule of 2007.
