AFP Statement regarding Vaccine Rollout

•The AFP participates and select personnel benefits in the landmark rollout of vaccines today 01 March with the ceremonial inoculation at the Victoriano Luna Medical Center in Quezon City.

•Thirty frontline medical health personnel will be vaccinated in that hospital. Doctor Colonel Fatima Claire Navarro, the Commanding Officer of V. Luna Hospital and two other doctors namely LTC Cynthia Liao and MAJ Joel Lorenzo Rollo will be ceremonially vaccinated. The rest will be inside the hospital premises.

•Tomorrow, 02 March 2021, the ceremonial vaccination and rollout will be in primary health care facilities catering to COVID-19 patients in the AFP’s major branches of service at the NCR.

•For the Philippine Army, it will be at the Army General Hospital in For Bonifacio. Doctor Colonel Joel Anastacio, the hospital’s Commanding Officer, will lead the ceremonial vaccination together with his team of medical health front liners.

•For the Philippine Navy, it will be at the Manila Naval Hospital in Bonifacio Naval Station in Taguig City. Doctor Colonel Puralyn Epres, the Commanding Officer, will lead the ceremonial inoculation with his priority hospital health service front liners.

•Meanwhile the Philippine Air Force will have the ceremonial vaccination at the Philippine Air Force General Hospital in Villamor Air Base in Pasay City. Doctor Colonel Nelson Posadas will lead the ceremonial vaccination.

•At the General Headquarters, Camp General Emilio Aguinaldo Station Hospital, Doctor Colonel Maria Sheila P Jardiolin, the Commanding Officer, will lead the health services personnel of the hospital in the vaccination rollout in that facility.

•Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana and AFP Chief Lieutenant General Cirilito Sobejana and other senior defense officials will be witnesses to this historic event.

•Priority amongst AFP personnel remains to be the medical health front liners. We will be grateful with whatever number of vaccine shots will be shared to the AFP.

•Aware that there is a scarce number of vaccines vis-a-vis the number of those who needs to be inoculated among uniformed personnel, we give premium to those of us who perform anti-COVID-19 operations.
